Sometimes I have to design around pieces that are being kept as we can’t always buy new. The picture, storage and side table where already there, so a new blue and cream scheme was created. Lots of texture was added in the rug, rattan, cushions and velvet sofas creating a calming family space. To keep the space open, a large multi functional footstool was added instead of a chair to give the feeling of more space while being a useful additional seat.

The Real Thing
The main room opens into a middle room that needed to be thought about too. Lovely William Morris wallpaper was added to create a cosy area for reading and relaxing with a class of vino!

This 3d render was so useful as I could see how the wallpaper and the area rugs would look. In an open plan home you need to think about how the rooms will look together as well as on their own.
