10 Spring Updates for your Home

10 Spring Updates for your Home

1.   Get busy with wonderful wallpaper. Update the smallest room in the house with some creative colour and pattern. Don’t be shy, use this room to be courageous with colour you may not use in other areas of the house. Maybe just avoid places where there will be lots of contact with water. Then buy some colourful accessories to match for a cohesive scheme.

2.  Step into spring with some kitchen rugs. Not always the most obvious place for a rug as you may be worried about spillage and food but look out for some washable ones you can pop into the wash. Also, rugs are a great way to section off areas in an open plan kitchen.

3.  Display greenery on the walls in bedrooms, living rooms and this is also great for hallways where space maybe limited. Try vertical placement to take your eye upwards, creating a feeling of height.

4. Revamp a headboard. We can’t always afford to replace bit ticket items so maybe try replacing or recovering your headboard with some patterned fabric or bold and bright colour. Make your own if you are handy with the sewing machine or outsource and get a upholsterer.

5. Take your paint halfway up the walls. Afraid to commit to a colour? Try it out by taking the paint halfway up. Dark colours on the bottom and light at the top will give the illusion of height in your room.

8.  Expose your windows! Take down heavy curtains and pull back the blinds letting as much light in as possible. Maybe put up lighter curtains or light weight blinds if you really can’t do without.
